About Erin Hernden
Erin Hernden is the author and narrator of Ellie & Sammie Churchmouse & the Sissy Seasons of Song. She was raised for her first ten years on Cockburn Island, Ontario which is right beside its more famous neighbour Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron.
In addition to this children’s story, Erin also writes and produces drama for children, aged five to seventeen years, presented at St. Luke’s Cathedral in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Through their drama and music, the children raise funds in support of charities of their choice.
She has also been greatly influenced by the music of the great church composers, such as Bach, Handel and Mozart to name a few. Their music is inextricably entwined in the story of little Ellie, her mischievous brother Sammie, and their extended family and friends.
Ellie & Sammie Churchmouse & the Sissy Seasons of Song is dedicated to Erin’s siblings. In her words, “they are, individually and collectively, the most humorous (in a good way) kindest, and bravest people I know. Each mousie in the book reflects personality traits and talents of four generations of my family.”
